The Worship Program

Seventh-day Adventists choose to worship God because we believe He is our Creator who deserves praise and honour.

Exodus 20:11 says " in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy."

We believe that Saturday is a special day set aside for humanity, since the beginning of the world, to spend time worshipping and honouring God. We can worship God in many different ways. It can be through Bible study, prayer and singing praises to Him. We can do this at a personal level or meet together with fellow believers.

We invite you to join us on Saturday morning to praise God and to learn more about Him.

At Capalaba church, we welcome people from all walks of life, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey.

Whatever your need, if you are seeking to know Jesus for the first time or have been walking with Him all your life, we invite you to make Capalaba your home church.

Come and Join us. Let us journey together.

  • Sabbath school starts at 9.30am.
  • Main Church Service starts at 11:00am.

For Sabbath school we separate in  small groups/classes. After Sabbath school we have a short break followed by the main church service which starts at 11am where we meet as a church family.

Both of these programs are often preceded by a time of praise and testimony.

  • What is Sabbath School?

This is a time where we discuss the teachings of the Bible and fellowship with each other.

We also learn more about the work of Adventist missions in other countries, or hear experiences of God's leading here in the 'Great South Land'.

Sabbath school classes are divided into the following general age groups:

  • Adults - 3 small groups where discussion on the selected Bible lessons are welcome.
  • Young Adults - 1 group for young professionals and young families who love to support each other and enjoy their company.

Class time is usually about 30-40 minutes, and our 'Bible Study Guides' prepared by the Seventh-day Adventist Church's headquarters Sabbath School Department are the basis of our study and discussion.

Every three months a new book of the Bible, or a special subject such as Creation, or Jesus' Life, is studied and we then have the opportunity to share with each other on how this study has impacted our own lives.

  • What is the Main Church Service?

This is a time where we unite as a church family to praise God, pray together, gather strength from the 'Word of God' and learn more about His leading in the past and His plans for our future.

Scripture readings, special music items, stories for children, all bring our hearts into union with the journey God wants to walk with us.

Look forward to see you next Sabbath !
